WWDC, scheduled for tomorrow, could offer fresh details about Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone. However, a recent leak may have already given us our clearest look yet at Apple’s foldable yet. Images shared by Sonny Dickson on X reportedly showcase dummy units of the foldable iPhone, providing what could be the closest preview yet of Apple’s upcoming design.

According to the leaked details, the foldable iPhone is expected to feature a 7.8-inch inner display when unfolded, offering a screen area comparable to that of an iPad mini. The front-facing camera is reportedly positioned in the upper-left corner of the internal display.

First look at the iPhone Fold dummy unit. It doesn't look like Apple will offer multiple colors, with white currently appearing to be the only option. What do you think? pic.twitter.com/olMzm6t6Ts — Sonny Dickson (@SonnyDickson) June 7, 2026

The outer display is said to measure 5.5 inches. When folded, the device reportedly adopts a shorter and wider aspect ratio than current iPhones, resembling the passport-style form factor seen on some competing foldables. The internal camera is expected to be accompanied by a dual rear-camera system on the exterior.

The leak also suggests that Apple may forgo Face ID on the foldable iPhone, instead opting for a Touch ID fingerprint sensor integrated into the side-mounted power button.

Reinforcing earlier reports from Mark Gurman, Dickson claims that Apple may initially limit the foldable iPhone’s color options. The device is reportedly expected to launch in just black and white finishes.

Such a strategy would not be unusual for Apple. The company has historically introduced new product categories with a limited selection of colors before expanding the lineup over time. The original iPhone and iPad, for example, launched without multiple color options, while the iPhone X debuted in only silver and space gray. More recently, the iPhone 17 Pro is rumored to arrive in just three color variants.

When it comes to Apple’s foldable ambitions, however, color choices may be less important than hardware quality. Industry reports suggest the company’s biggest differentiator could be its engineering, particularly the hinge mechanism and display. Multiple rumors indicate that Apple is aiming for a nearly invisible crease, a feature that could help the device stand out in an increasingly competitive foldable market.

Apple is also expected to leverage its mature iPad app ecosystem to deliver a polished software experience from day one. With iOS 27 set to be unveiled soon, the update could provide the first hints about how Apple plans to optimize its software for a foldable iPhone.
