1. New-Gen Fortuner – Upcoming Toyota 7-Seaters

The Fortuner is one of the most popular nameplates in India, but the SUV does seem dated now in terms of features and looks. However, that could soon change as we expect Toyota to bring in a new generation of the Fortuner. With this new generation, the Fortuner will share its front fascia with the recently revealed new-gen Hilux. Worry not; the upgrades won’t just be cosmetic. The new Fortuner could get a plethora of new features like a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS and much more.

It is likely that the upcoming Fortuner will continue to offer the same 2.8-litre diesel engine with 4X4. However, Toyota could bring in a new petrol hybrid powertrain to offer impressive fuel efficiency and refinement. We can expect the new-gen Fortuner to carry a price tag ranging from Rs 43 lakh to Rs 65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). Toyota could launch this SUV next year.

2. Maruti YMC-Based Electric 7-Seater

Maruti and Toyota launched their very first EVs in the Indian market, the e Vitara and the e Bella, respectively. And now, Maruti is testing its upcoming electric 7-seater, codenamed the YMC, and Toyota will also be launching its own version of this SUV. This Toyota 7-seater will likely get a slew of features like a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, ventilated front seats, a powered driver seat, ADAS and much more. As it will be based on the same platform as the existing e Bella, it will likely get the same battery pack options: a 49kWh battery pack and a 61kWh battery pack. We believe this 7-seater could get a price tag ranging from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and Toyota could launch this in 2027.

3. Innova Hycross Lower Variant – Upcoming Toyota 7-Seaters

Many industry rumours suggest that the Innova Crysta will be discontinued in 2027, and Toyota will be launching a lower-spec Innova Hycross to replace the Crysta. The Crysta was mainly used for fleets, thanks to its reliability and lower running costs. So, Toyota will likely introduce an Innova Hycross lower variant with a hybrid powertrain for great fuel economy as well as Toyota reliability. This will likely be a fleet-only model, with very few features, making it more accessible. We can expect Toyota to price this model at Rs 22 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), and it is expected to arrive by 2027.
