Lamborghini has revealed the Revuelto Super Veloce (SV), a version of its plug-in hybrid V12 flagship developed for track use. It gets a revised aerodynamic package, more power from its hybrid system, lower weight and changes to the suspension and braking systems. Production will be limited to 1,963 units, while the price has not been announced.

Lamborghini Revuelto SV: Design

The Revuelto SV gets a new front diffuser with red detailing, a redesigned rear diffuser and a large rear wing. Lamborghini has also added SV graphics and badges, along with more carbon-fibre parts to reduce weight. The aerodynamic changes are aimed at increasing downforce and improving cooling during track driving.

New centre-lock wheels are also part of the package. They measure 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear and are fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Race R tyres. The wheels and tyres are part of the changes made to improve the car's track performance.

Lamborghini Revuelto SV: Interior

The cabin layout remains largely the same as the standard Revuelto. The main change is the addition of bucket seats, which provide more support during cornering. Lamborghini has also added SV badging and expanded the choice of upholstery materials and colours.

The dashboard, displays and other main cabin elements have been carried over from the standard car. So, while the seats and trim options change, the basic interior layout remains familiar.

Lamborghini Revuelto SV: Engine

The Revuelto SV continues with the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, which revs to 9,500rpm. It is paired with the 7.3kWh battery and three-motor hybrid system. The electric motors now produce 295bhp, compared with 187bhp in the standard Revuelto, taking combined system output to 1,050bhp.

The eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and all-wheel-drive system have been retained. Lamborghini has changed the software controlling torque delivery and electric power deployment to suit track driving. The SV can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.4 seconds and 0-200km/h in 6.7 seconds, while its top speed remains above 345km/h.

A sports exhaust is also fitted, while weight reduction takes the power-to-weight ratio to 600bhp per tonne. The standard Revuelto has a figure of 565bhp per tonne. Lamborghini has also added a Pilota drive mode with a five-stage traction control system that adjusts its response according to track and tyre conditions.

The suspension uses manually adjustable dampers based on GT3 racing hardware. Lamborghini says the setup improves agility by 17 percent and lateral grip by 10 percent over the standard Revuelto. The braking system has also been revised with 420mm CCM-R carbon-ceramic discs at the front and 410mm discs at the rear.

The changes have already been tested at the Hockenheimring, where the Revuelto SV recorded a lap time of 1:41.6. This puts it second among officially timed cars at the circuit.
