Last month, Kia India had announced a price hike of up to 2% with its Indian portfolio for the month of July 2026. The new prices were set to come into effect from July 1st, 2026 and they have. Kia’s mainstream portfolio currently has Sonet, Seltos and Carens Clavis and all of them have received a price hike, effective from July 1st, 2026.

Kia India has been facing higher commodity and logistics costs. After absorbing a chunk of the price hike, Kia India is passing down some of the price hike to buyers.

The price hike is up to Rs 38,500 with Kia vehicles and it depends upon the model, trim level and then engine and gearbox combinations you choose. Price hikes are up to 2% of the Ex-sh price and it has to be noted that Seltos is the one with highest price hikes, while Sonet and Carens Clavis get less price hikes.

Sonet Price Hike – Up To Rs 18,400

Starting with the most affordable Sonet, Kia has hiked the prices depending on the variant and powertrain combo. The 1.2L NA Petrol variants get price hikes between Rs 7,300 and Rs 9,300. It is between Rs 3,300 and Rs 8,300 for 1.0L Turbo Petrol variants and up to Rs 18,400 for 1.5L Turbo Diesel variants. It has to be noted that some Diesel variants do not get any price hike.

Carens Clavis Price Hike – Up To Rs 8,200

Kia’s premium MPV, the Carens Clavis has received the lowest price hike among this trio. For the 1.5L NA Petrol variants, price hike is Rs 4,200 and it ranges between Rs 8,110 and Rs 8,200 for 1.5L Turbo Petrol variants, while it is Rs 8,200 for 1.5L Turbo Diesel variants. The Clavis was recently updated to add sportier bumpers and fog lights too.

Seltos Price Hike – Up To Rs 38,500

The star boy of Kia India’s current portfolio, the Seltos, has received the highest price hike in this list. Seltos is currently Kia’s flagship offering in India and is 3rd best selling C Segment Mid Size SUV. For 1.5L NA Petrol variants, price hike is between Rs 28,500 and Rs 30,500, while it is around Rs 30,500 for most 1.5 Turbo Petrol variants and between Rs 11,000 and Rs 38,500 for 1.5L Turbo Diesel variants.

What next?

Kia India is readying a new flagship ICE SUV for the Indian market in the form of Sorento, which has been spied testing in India multiple times. It is expected to be made in India entirely with high levels of localization, which should give it an edge in pricing. The company is also bringing Syros EV and then a strong hybrid engine with Seltos.
