iPhone 17 Pro Max Price Slashed Ahead Of iPhone 18 Release

As Apple buyers prepare for higher iPhone 18 prices—and a concerningly expensive iPhone Fold/Ultra—retailers are slashing the price of the iPhone 17 series ahead of next month’s launch. Amazon U.K. and John Lewis has dropped prices for the entire iPhone 17 lineup, with the exception of the iPhone 17e. The iPhone 16 Pro Max, for example, is the most valuable device to trade in at $720 in the U.S. (depending on condition, of course), up from $695. The iPhone 16 Pro jumped from $560 to $630, which is the largest bump in the iPhone lineup.

Amazon U.K. and John Lewis has dropped prices for the entire iPhone 17 lineup, with the exception of the iPhone 17e.

iPhone 17 Pro Max — £1,099 ($1,407), down from £1,199 ($1,535), saving £100 ($128)

iPhone 17 Pro — £999 ($1,279), down from £1,099 ($1,407), saving £100 ($128)

iPhone 17 — £749 ($959), down from £799 ($1,023), saving £50 ($64)

iPhone 17 Air — £799 ($1,023), down from £999 ($1,279), saving £200 ($256)

As I covered back in June, third-party retailers have been clearing stock by discounting the iPhone 17 series for a couple of months. Spanish, German, and Australian shoppers have been treated to lower prices for unlocked iPhones since the start of summer. The U.K. has now joined them.

Values went up across almost every model, all the way back to older handsets like the iPhone 11, which is now worth up to $110. iPhone 11: $110 (was $100) After quietly removing some recent Samsung Galaxy phones from its trade-in program, Apple has added other Android phones, including (for the first time) the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL at $315 and the OnePlus 13 at $250. The most Apple will pay for your Samsung phone is $125 for the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
