The Indian team delivered an outstanding performance, with all five participants winning gold medals. They competed against 381 students from 87 countries, making the result a significant achievement for the country.

The Indian gold medal winners are Kansisk Jain from Pune, Riddhesh Anant Bendale from Indore, Rishit Garg from Delhi, Shresth Suraiya from Mumbai, and Svait Joshi from Ahmedabad.

All five students secured gold medals, placing India among the top-performing nations at the Olympiad.

India's performance this year reflects the growing strength of its students in science and mathematics at the international level. Sharing the top rank with countries known for their strong science education systems highlights the quality of preparation and commitment shown by the Indian team.

The students were guided by Professor Anwesh Mazumdar of HBCSE-TIFR, Dr. Leena Joshi, and scientific observers Professor Ananda Dasgupta of IISER Kolkata and Ms. Nisha Kelkar. Their mentoring and support played an important role in the team's success.

India's students performed exceptionally well at the 56th International Physics Olympiad, according to the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). They scored almost full marks in the theory exam and also did very well in the practical test.

This was India's 27th time taking part in the competition. So far, about 44% of Indian participants have won gold medals, 41% have won silver, and 10% have won bronze.

In the last 10 years, every Indian student at the Olympiad has won a medal. During this period, 62% won gold and 38% won silver. India has won all five gold medals in a single edition only twice—first in 2018 and again this year.

The Indian Olympiad programme is run by HBCSE, a centre of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) under the Department of Atomic Energy. HBCSE manages the entire selection process, including the national exams, training camps, and choosing the five-member team.

This year's team was led by Professor Anwesh Mazumdar of HBCSE-TIFR and Dr Leena Joshi of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. The scientific observers were Professor Ananda Dasgupta of IISER Kolkata and Nisha Kelkar of Gogate-Joglekar College, Ratnagiri.
