Following Abhishek Sharma's electrifying 30-ball hundred that set the tone, India's bowling attack gave the Afghans no room to breathe. Axar Patel and Jasprit Bumrah gutted the top order inside the Powerplay, before a devastating three-wicket burst in a single over from Nitish Kumar Reddy slammed the door shut on any resistance. Noor ul Rahman and Azmatullah Omarzai added 23 runs to momentarily stall India's charge before Ravi Bishnoi struck in the 9th over, having Noor caught by Nitish Kumar Reddy for 11. Axar Patel and Bishnoi operated in tandem leading into drinks, choking the boundaries and conceding just 31 runs across the entire 6-over block. Brought back in the 12th over, Nitish Kumar Reddy ran riot through Afghanistan's middle and lower order. He cleaned up Mohammad Nabi (8) on the first delivery, removed top-scorer Azmatullah Omarzai (17) two balls later, and rattled Mujeeb Ur Rahman's stumps to cap a three-wicket, one-run over. From 81/5 to 82/8 in five balls, Afghanistan's chase has effectively unravelled.

Axar Patel dealt body blows to the chase, castling Rahmanullah Gurbaz (15) before having Sediqullah Atal caught by Abhishek Sharma five balls later. Jasprit Bumrah cranked up the pressure in the 5th over, cleaning up Darwish Rasooli for a golden duck with lethal precision. Ibrahim Zadran looked dangerous with a rapid 25 off 16, but Yash Thakur struck early in the 6th over as Ishan Kishan completed the catch to leave Afghanistan reeling at 47/4.

India after 20 overs: 221/7

At 191/4 after 16 overs, India seemed on course for a 240+ finish. However, Afghanistan responded with brilliant bowling and restricted India to just two boundaries in the last 24 balls. Abdollah Ahmadzai nailed wide yorkers under pressure, and conceded only 38 in his full spell and took the wicket of Nitish Reddy.

Azmatullah Omarzai provided Afghanistan with vital breakthroughs, removing a well-set Sanju Samson (50) and a dangerous Shivam Dube (14) within a span of 15 deliveries. The Afghans did well to hold India to just 36 runs across this 4-over block (9.00 rpo), dragging the runaway overall run rate under the 12-run mark. Iyer and Ishan Kishan will look to target seamers Farooqi and Ahmadzai in the death overs to push the total well beyond 230.

Abhishek Sharma continued his merciless assault into the middle overs, storming to a mind-boggling hundred in just 30 deliveries with 9 fours and 10 towering sixes. However, Afghanistan finally found relief on the penultimate ball of the 10th over. Rashid Khan induced an edge from Abhishek to wicketkeeper Rahmanullah Gurbaz for 108.

Rashid made another decisive move in the 12th over, running out new batter Tilak Varma for 2 to check India's runaway scoring rate. With wickets tumbling at the other end, Sanju Samson kept his composure to move to 44* off 31, joined by captain Shreyas Iyer as India eye a massive finish in the death overs.

Abhishek Sharma produced one of the most destructive powerplay displays in T20I history, racing to a sensational 16-ball half-century. He was striking at an astonishing 345.45, smashing 8 fours and 7 maximums across all parts of the ground. Ibrahim Zadran brought on veteran off-spinner Mohammad Nabi to counter the left-hander, but the gamble backfired disastrously as Nabi was taken apart for 29 runs.

Sanju Samson walked out under pressure in the second T20I after a 10-run dismissal in the opener had put his spot in question. He responded with a 22-ball 57, his best knock since the T20 World Cup, and helped India chase 160 in under 15 overs to seal the series with a match to spare. But even that innings, it seems, hasn't pushed Sooryavanshi entirely out of the picture.

Varun Chakravarthy continues to sit out with the side strain he picked up in the first T20I, and his unavailability means India will again need to reshuffle the bowling department, much like when Ravi Bishnoi stepped in for the second match. Thursday's combination will be shaped around that constraint as India look to give as many squad members game time as possible before the Asian Games.
