Even as Odisha continues to recover from the recent spell of floods, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday warned of another round of heavy rainfall across the state over the next three days.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has issued Yellow Alerts for most districts, cautioning people and local authorities to remain prepared for heavy rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Only Nuapada, Bolangir, Kalahandi, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Jharsuguda have been kept out of the rainfall alert for the day.
Apart from heavy rain, the IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40kmph.

Yellow Alert for Majority of districts
The IMD has also issued a Yellow Alert for 24 districts on August 4, forecasting rainfall between 7cm and 11cm in several parts of the state. While the intensity of rain is expected to reduce slightly on August 5, 21 districts will continue to remain under a Yellow Alert.
Authorities have advised district administrations to stay vigilant in view of the forecast, particularly in areas that have recently witnessed flooding.
Coastal Odisha on high alert
All coastal districts have been placed under a Yellow Alert for the next three days as the weather system continues to influence rainfall activity across the region.
Apart from heavy rain, the IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40kmph.
