In FY2026, Maruti Suzuki Dzire proved to be India’s best-selling car. Which means even in the SUV-dominated era, the room for the compact sedan hasn’t been dead yet. That being said, Honda, with the Amaze, is expected to take on the Dzire. And to compete, Honda might bring some changes to the Amaze in the near future. Honda Amaze Facelift-

Honda Amaze has been in the Indian market for a really long time now. And over the years, Indians have been offered two generations of the Amaze. Also, very recently, Honda offered a major update to this compact sedan, yet that was not enough to take on the class leader, Dzire. Here are some changes that Honda coils bring in the upcoming update-

Looks-

With the latest update, the Amaze got a completely revised exterior design, inspired by the Hondas. Unlike the other sedans, the Amaze features a boxy yet bold design, and this is expected to continue with the next update as well. With the update, Honda is expected to offer a large front honeycomb mesh grille and sharper-looking LED headlights and taillights. The chrome insert on the nose is expected to be replaced by the LED strip, inspired by the newly launched Honda City. What else?

Interior & Features-

Some of the noticeable improvements can be expected to be made inside the cabin. Honda coils offer a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen, similar to the one on the latest Honda City. Compared to the rival, the Amaze misses out on features such as a 360-degree camera and an electric sunroof. And this could be changed with the upcoming update.

Another highlight of the Amaze is its safety equipment, which features a 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP. And not to forget the Level-2 ADAS offering. This is also to be carried forward with the facelift as well.

Powertrain-

Under the hood, Amaze is expected to remain unchanged. Amaze is expected to come equipped with the 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, producing 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. You can choose from two gearbox options, including a 5-speed manual and a CVT. This engine stands out as the 4-cylinder unit, offering a vibration-free and smooth driving experience. Not to forget the retrofitted CNG kit from the dealer themself, adding to the practicality of the compact sedan.

Rivals-

The biggest rival of the Amaze remains the class-leading Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Other rivals are the Hyundai Aura and Tata Tigor. All rivals to the Amaze are offered with a factory-fitted CNG powertrain, making it the go-to choice for budget-conscious Indian buyers. It is interesting to see whether Honda will reconsider offering factory-fitted CNG for the Amaze. Which one would you pick, the smooth Amaze or the cost-effective rivals?

Expected Launch & Pricing-

There are no signs from the automaker to introduce an update to the Amaze just yet. But given the competition, we can expect it to launch by mid-2027. Given minor updates and revisions, we can expect a slight price hike of about Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. Currently, the Amaze is being priced between Rs 8.90 lakh and Rs 11.65 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
