But their management had a change of mind from Friday morning itself, when they learned about the occupancy of Haunted – Echoes Of The Past vis-à-vis the other new releases.
The source further said, “Haunted – Echoes Of The Past had 3000 shows a day on Friday across India and that number increased to 4500 on Saturday.

The trade and industry got a pleasant surprise as Haunted – Echoes Of The Past opened beyond expectations and defeated the other releases by a huge margin. Looking at the demand, several cinemas are now adding shows of the horror film.

As per the data received by Bollywood Hungama, the film released in 1232 screens in the country. While non-national chains and single screens gave a fair number of shows, national chains allotted just 1 show Pan-India. A trade source told us, “Most of the PVR Inox properties didn’t even bother to screen the film. But their management had a change of mind from Friday morning itself, when they learned about the occupancy of Haunted – Echoes Of The Past vis-à-vis the other new releases. Accordingly, they decided to play 2, 3 and even 4 shows. They also introduced the film to several of their cinemas.”
Mumbai’s PVR Lower Parel and Metro Inox will play Haunted – Echoes Of The Past from Saturday, June 13 at 11:00 pm. At the mass-appealing MovieTime Hub, the Friday night show is sold out and the Saturday evening show is already fast-filling.
The source further said, “Haunted – Echoes Of The Past had 3000 shows a day on Friday across India and that number increased to 4500 on Saturday. The screen count has jumped from 1232 to 1500. On Sunday, the number can go higher.”
Box office estimates
As of 9:30 pm, Haunted – Echoes Of The Past has collected a huge Rs. 2.60 crores and by the end of the day, the earnings should be around Rs. 2.75 crores and Rs. 3 crores. It’s a huge number considering how the other films of the week performed.
Imtiaz Ali’s Main Vaapas Aaunga collected Rs. 1.30 crores and will finish its first day with earnings around Rs. 1.50-1.60 crores. Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata and Governor collected Rs. 99 lakhs and Rs. 95 lakhs respectively. These films would collect over a crore on day 1. Note that these figures are as of 9:30 pm on June 12.
