As of 11 PM (Wednesday, June 3), the romantic comedy drama sold around 11,000 tickets in the top two national chains, PVR Inox and Cinepolis, for the opening day.
Compared to Pati Patni Aur Woh Do's advance sales, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is witnessing better sales, almost double that of the Ayushmann Khurrana film. Touted to be David Dhawan's last directorial, the movie is looking to close its advance sales by selling around 25,000-30,000 tickets in the top national chains. That suggests an opening of around Rs. 7 crore at the box office, depending on how walk-ups perform on the opening day.
