5 / 6 Pokémon, which, unknown to many, is short for 'Pocket Monsters', is one of the highest-grossing media franchises in the world. It originated as a pair of Game Boy games in Japan in 1996. The universe features over 1,025 fictional creatures that humans have to catch, train, and battle with. This game spans video games, trading cards, a very successful anime series, interactive mobile games like Pokémon Go, and even a Hollywood movie.
