Ghost Recon Wildlands is getting a major update. Ubisoft has released Last Rites, a free update for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands that adds 4K resolution and 60 FPS support on PS5 and PS5 Pro. Apart from this, the game is getting a new story mission, expanded gameplay customisation options and additional unlockable content. Confirming the console upgrade, Ubisoft's Live Strategy & Analytics Director Yossef Benzeghadi said,The update, available on both PS4 and PS5, also introduces a new story campaign, Ghost Parameters, World and Session Settings, additional character customisation options, previously unavailable equipment and free PvP class unlocks. Ubisoft said the update was developed partly in response to long-term community feedback from players who continue to engage with the nearly decade-old tactical shooter.The update's headline addition is Last Rites, a new linear story mission that is immediately accessible. The mission takes place in a darker Bolivia, and follows the Ghosts as they investigate an area controlled by Los Penitentes, a new cult led by an antagonist called La Llorona.Ubisoft said the story explores concepts such as betrayal, faith, and moral ambiguity, while new environmental hazards and story elements are revealed through documents and audio recordings scattered across the map.Explaining the character, Creative Director Olivier Leonardi said La Llorona isThe update also expands gameplay settings with new Ghost Parameters, allowing players to tailor their mission experience. Players can now choose options such as:New World and Session Settings also allow players to adjust weather, time of day, enemy patrol frequency, alarms, signal jammers and even enable friendly fire during cooperative play.Ubisoft has also expanded difficulty settings, allowing players to modify enemy perception, endurance, vehicle durability and HUD elements independently.Alongside gameplay changes, the update unlocks several items at no additional cost. Ubisoft said many previously unreleased camouflage patterns, challenge rewards, weapons and equipment are now available. All Ghost War PvP classes can also be unlocked for free through the in-game store.The update also adds new Character Smith cosmetic items to mark the 25th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise, including a mystery Operator Skin earned by completing the Last Rites mission.PlayStation Plus members additionally receive an exclusive La Llorona Iconic Skin, the P416 Micteca weapon and 4-SHUR Blue Leader Sunglasses.
