Modi-Trump meet: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian-les-Bains in eastern France. Three Indian sailors were killed off the coast of Oman following a US naval attack on the Palau-flagged oil tanker MT Settebello. The US military said it launched the attack after the vessel allegedly ignored repeated warnings. Following the incident, India summoned the US Charge d'Affaires (CDA) and lodged a formal protest over what it described as the continued targeting of commercial vessels carrying Indian mariners in the Gulf of Oman by the US military. The attack on Mt Settebello was the second such incident involving a vessel with Indian crew members in recent weeks. Before the strike on Mt Settebello, the Guinea-Bissau-flagged tanker Mt Jalveer was also hit in a US military attack.
