Anshula Kapoor chose an orange and fuschia lehenga by designer Tarun Tahiliani, which featured paisley, floral and foliate motifs in Kashida embellished with zari. The blouse featured the retro revival of a sweetheart neckline, with elbow-length sleeves and beaded tassels. The two dupattas—each with a special story-became the highlight of the look. While one, a bandhani gharchola dupatta with a phulkari border, paid homage to Kapoor’s Punjabi roots and her husband’s Gujarati heritage, the other, a gold tissue and zardozi dupatta, belonged to Kapoor’s late mother and is 42-years-old. “Anshula wanted to carry a piece of her mother’s legacy with her as she stepped into this new chapter of her own life and we wanted to help her achieve this with the best possible aesthetics,” shared stylist Mohit Rai who conceptualised the look. He turned to jewellery from Jaipur-based Raniwala 1881 and kaliras by Mumbai-based designer Mrinalini Chandra for completing the look alongside Kapoor’s traditional pink chooda.
