Hrithik Roshan has wrapped up shooting for his cameo appearance in the much-awaited Jailer 2 alongside megastar Rajinikanth over a 2-day schedule in Chennai. According to sources from the sets, the North and South powerhouses Hrithik and Rajinikanth turned nostalgic over the course of the shoot, and their camaraderie on the screen will be something to watch out for. "Nelson Dilipkumar has designed a larger-than-life character for Hrithik Roshan in Jailer 2. He has a solid introductory sequence, leading to a combination scene with Rajinikanth, and this entire episode is said to be one of the major highlights of Jailer 2," revealed the source.
Further adding that Hrithik shot for the film over a 2-day period on 22nd and 23rd June in Chennai, and is impressed with the output. "It’s a dynamic cameo, designed to receive claps and whistles from the audience. His cameo comes at a key juncture in the film, and contributes majorly in taking the story forward. He will be sporting a distinct look in the film, and the same has been kept under wraps," the source informed, pointing out that tight security was present on the set amid the shoot. "They followed a no-phone policy on the set to avoid leaks."
The on-screen larger-than-life appearance aside, it was an epic 40-year reunion for Hrithik and Rajinikanth as they relived the days of shooting for Bhagwaan Dada in 1986, and caught up on each other's lives off-screen too.
"Hrithik has utmost respect for Rajinikanth, as he is actually the first ever actor he worked with as a child artist back in the 80s. Hrithik was visibly humbled to be in the megastar's presence and sought Rajinikanth’s blessing by touching his feet upon arrival. Hrithik expressed his nervousness before giving the first shot. Both actors received a mighty thumbs up from director Nelson upon wrap. It was a delight for onlookers on set to see the two Superstars come alive onscreen. Between takes, the two passionately discussed cinema, and also discussed their personal lives, where Rajinikanth warmly enquired about Hrithik's sons - Hridaan and Hrehaan. It was heartwarming to witness both of them together."
The collaboration between two of Indian cinema’s biggest stars has already created massive excitement among fans, and if the buzz is anything to go by, Jailer 2 is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated films on the horizon.
Jailer 2 is written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
