The absence of tread grooves gives the Protorq Racing a larger continuous contact area with the circuit.
For the 2026 season, both the Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 200 race bikes are running Protorq Racing slicks at the front and rear.

Eurogrip has not said whether the Protorq Racing will eventually be offered to private racers or track-day riders.
Dedicated slick tyre developed for circuit use
Front and rear fitments debuts on Apache RR 310 and RTR 200 race bikes
Eurogrip enters its eighth year as technical partner to the TVS One Make Championship
Eurogrip Protorq Racing slick tyre has made its debut at the 2026 Petronas TVS India One Make Championship. Its retail price has not been announced, and Eurogrip has not confirmed a commercial launch for regular customers yet. For now the new tyre is being used in competition on the TVS Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 200 race motorcycles.
Protorq Racing is a proper slick with an uninterrupted tread surface designed to maximise rubber contact with the racetrack. Eurogrip has also developed a race-specific carcass construction and compound for the tyre with particular attention paid to stability and behaviour at extreme lean angles.
A normal street tyre needs grooves to manage water, must work across a wide temperature range and has to deliver reasonable durability over thousands of kilometres. A slick used on a dry circuit can concentrate far more heavily on surface contact, cornering grip and predictable behaviour when the motorcycle is being pushed towards the edge of the tyre. The absence of tread grooves gives the Protorq Racing a larger continuous contact area with the circuit.
For the 2026 season, both the Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 200 race bikes are running Protorq Racing slicks at the front and rear. Having the same tyre family tested across both racing platforms should help engineers understand how the carcass and compound behave under a wider range of conditions. Eurogrip is now entering its eighth consecutive year as the technical tyre partner to TVS Racing. That gives the company repeated access to real circuit conditions rather than isolated testing sessions.
Eurogrip says the data and feedback generated through racing gives its research and development teams information that can be used to improve tyre performance and handling. This does not mean the Protorq Racing technology will simply be transferred unchanged to a street tyre, but competition can help engineers understand materials and construction techniques under extreme conditions.
Eurogrip has not said whether the Protorq Racing will eventually be offered to private racers or track-day riders. For now, the announcement concerns its use in the Petronas TVS India One Make Championship.
