Yesterday’s 5pm deadline came and went without a peep from Manchester City, let alone a bid, let alone one that met our £120m asking price.
Actually, that’s not wholly true. Enzo Maresca did hint earlier in the day that City won’t be do anything. So there was a peep. But that was it. A peep from Diet Pep, but nothing more.
