The wait is finally over, Dragon Ball fans. After almost a decade, Dragon Ball Super finally returns with enhanced animation and a completely reimagined story.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will officially premiere on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, in Japan. Alongside the confirmed release date is a brand-new trailer showcasing enhanced animation and a completely reworked narrative that closely resembles the storytelling of the Dragon Ball Super manga by the late Akira Toriyama and co-creator Toyotaro.
The latest update to arguably the greatest action anime series worldwide comes as Dragon Ball Super is about to make a big splash at New York Comic Con 2026 from Oct. 8–11, 2026. More details about Dragon Ball Super's long-awaited return and upcoming NYCC appearance are available below.

"With the premiere drawing near, the Super Surge visual has been revealed today," Toei Animation said via a press release. "The striking visual captures the God of Destruction Beerus with a fearless smile as he sets his sights on Earth, alongside Goku's sharp expression as he stands against this overwhelming presence. Following the announcement at Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 that set fans around the world ablaze, the visual showcases not only the appearance of Frieza but also depicts the new threats targeting Earth, hinting at the further expansion of the story."
Although Dragon Ball Super: Beerus was initially revealed as an enhanced version of the original story arc loosely based on Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, the new TV anime series appears to take further liberties with its storytelling, aligning more closely with the manga version as written by Toriyama. In particular, the arrival of Beerus, the revival of Frieza and the first Tournament of Power will "fuse" into a stronger, tighter story.
Additionally, the latest Dragon Ball Super: Beerus trailer officially revealed the new opening and ending theme songs. The new opening theme song, "ONOGAMI," will be performed by MEGATERA・ZERO. "Kan Peki No Peki" by VK Blanka will serve as the new ending theme song.

Ahead of its official premiere, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 1 will receive an advance worldwide premiere at NYCC2026. Monica Rial (English dub voice of Bulma) will host the official event, with Jason Douglas (English dub voice of Beerus) and Ian Sinclair (English dub voice of Whis) joining her on stage.

In addition to the advance screening, attendees will receive a Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Big Fan Chain and face towel, plus a Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World Energy Marker, as giveaways while supplies last.
The original Dragon Ball Super anime TV series and films stream on Crunchyroll. You can read earlier chapters of the manga digitally in the Viz Media and Manga Plus apps. The manga remains on hiatus, but Toyotaro has promised it will return with a brand-new storyline.
