Dimagi bano, andhbhakt nahi: Prakash Raj backs CJP after school campaign victory

Actor Prakash Raj has once again voiced his support for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) movement. The actor reacted after a recent protest over the condition of a government school in Maharashtra led to the suspension of its principal. He had sat in protest with villagers for the suspension of the school principal. The latest protest in Hingoli has now drawn attention after the villagers' demand for action against the school principal was addressed. Actor Prakash Raj has once again voiced his support for the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) movement. The actor reacted after a recent protest over the condition of a government school in Maharashtra led to the suspension of its principal.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke shared a video from Hingoli on Tuesday, announcing what he described as a major victory for villagers in Limbala. According to Dipke, the principal of the government school, who was reporting to work while intoxicated, had been suspended following the protest.

“First big victory for the villagers of Limbala in Hingoli district. The alcoholic principal has been suspended. I would like to dedicate this win to Abdul and his father. As Abdul said yesterday- “Ab rukna nahi hai, school theek karke hi rahenge. (Don’t stop now till the school is improved)," wrote Dipke. He had sat in protest with villagers for the suspension of the school principal.

Prakash Raj shared the video and celebrated the development with a message that appeared to take a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent use of the phrase ‘dimagi naxals’.

“Thank you Cockroaches (heart emojis) This the power of Citizens demanding accountability from the system (bicep emojis) ..Dimagi bano .. Andhbahakt nahi (Ask questions, don’t be subservient. Use your brain, don’t have blind faith). #justasking #SchoolThikKaro,” the actor wrote.

The actor's use of “Dimagi bano” came shortly after PM Modi used the term “dimagi naxals” in his Independence Day address. The phrase has since become a talking point on social media, with several public figures using it in different contexts.

What is CJP's ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign?

The CJP's ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign was launched in Abhijeet Dipke's native village in Maharashtra. The movement focusses on problems faced by government schools and seeks better facilities and accountability.

Dipke had earlier raised concerns about the lack of basic amenities at government schools. The latest protest in Hingoli has now drawn attention after the villagers' demand for action against the school principal was addressed.

Prakash Raj has been associated with the CJP movement since its early days and has previously appeared at its protests.

Prakash Raj's recent political comments

Prakash Raj has also been in the news over his claims regarding his name on the voters' list following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. He had questioned the Election Commission after alleging that his name had been removed.

The Election Commission said his name had not been deleted. The Bengaluru Central City Corporation, meanwhile, said his voter status had been marked as ‘shifted’ because he had changed his residence and that he needed to register again.
