Dhamaal 4 is set to emerge as a HIT with the film recording a fantastic surge at the Indian box office today on its second day. Through evening shows, the film is running about 65-70 per cent ahead of its opening day, which would mean a Rs. 23-24 crore nett day. However, this growth will somewhat come down in the night, as is the norm. So eventually, it will settle around Rs. 22 crore nett, which will be 55-60 per cent up from Friday. At the very least, it will be Rs. 21 crore nett, which itself will be a strong surge.

In comparison, Welcome to the Jungle was up by 35 per cent and Bhooth Bangla by 55 per cent.
That Saturday haul would take the Ajay Devgn starrer to Rs. 36 crore nett in two days. Being a family entertainer, the film is expected to grow big on Sunday. Welcome to the Jungle grew about 20 per cent on Sunday. A similar can be expected here, which would take its weekend over Rs. 60 crore nett, similar to Welcome to the Jungle, despite being Rs. 5 crore short on the opening day.
While this growth has put the film on course to be a HIT, it will be the weekdays’ hold that will really put it in stone. Welcome to the Jungle performed very well on the weekend and even passed the Monday hold test. It was the Wednesday drop, which knocked it off, and then the competition did the rest. Dhamaal 4, however, has practically three weeks open run, up until Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives at month-end. If the film passes weekdays without any major slip, it will almost certainly be a HIT.
