He was inaugurating the two-day National Security Strategies Conference-2026 (NSSC).
On Tuesday (August 25), the conference will discuss information warfare and its implications on national security and the need for a bio-security framework.
The Home Minister said an AI-based analysis of information available on Multi Agency Centres (MAC) platforms should be done to create standard operating procedures (SOPs) to counter various national security challenges.
The second day of the conference will focus on the threat landscape from sub-aerial systems and formulating countermeasures, securing the blue economy.

The conference held in hybrid format was attended by over 850 participants from across the country. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director, Intelligence Bureau Mahesh Dixit and heads of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) attended the conference in Delhi. Directors General of Police of States and Union Territories, young police officers working at the cutting-edge level and domain experts from specialised fields joined the conference through virtual mode, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said.
On the first day of the conference, discussions focused on critical aspects of national security, including response to counter-terrorism challenges, fusion, analysis and operationalisation of intelligence through MAC, vision document on narcotics control, detection and deportation of illegal migrants, a policy framework to combat cybercrime and proxy warfare by Pakistan.
For effective tackling of terrorism and radicalisation, Mr. Shah emphasised on training for implementation of the MHA’s PRAHAAR scheme, expediting trial by bringing back fugitives and using trial in absentia provisions and undertaking comprehensive and integrated approach while investigating Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) cases.

In pursuance to the directions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, NSSC is being held every year in hybrid format since 2021, to find solutions to major national security challenges using the extensive experience of officers working at the grassroots level in collaboration with domain experts.
