Her mother, Dina Pathak, was one of Gujarati theatre’s most respected names and later became a celebrated film actor known for movies like Golmaal and Khubsoorat. Her father, Baldev Pathak, had his own unique connection to the Hindi film industry. A Punjabi businessman and designer, he reportedly ran a famous tailoring and menswear store near the Gateway of India in Mumbai. Baldev Pathak designed outfits for stars like Rajesh Khanna and Dilip Kumar, including Khanna’s iconic “guru kurtas,” long before celebrity styling became common in Bollywood.
