Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois returned to the Spanish capital and underwent some tests on the groin injury he picked up during Spain’s victory over Belgium in the FIFA World Cup Quarterfinals.
The tests revealed that he has escaped a serious injury, meaning that he will be available upon returning from his vacation.
He is scheduled to return to first-team dynamics during the final week of July and should do so with the injury completely behind him.
Even so, he is not expected to play in the team’s friendly in Austria on August 1st against Fiorentina in Klagenfurt.
Upon returning from his period of rest and reflection regarding his future with Belgium, he will return to Real Madrid where he will also meet the new goalkeeping coach, Nuno Santos.
