Colored-Diamond Earrings to Headline Sotheby’s Auction

Sotheby’s is selling a pair of colored-diamond earrings at its upcoming auction in Hong Kong. The earrings will carry a high estimate of HKD 2 million ($255,050) at the September 9 Fine Jewelry sale, according to the auction house’s website. The 60 Burmese rubies, ranging from 0.19 to 2.09 carats, have a total weight of 26.78 carats, while the brilliant-cut diamonds total 12.65 carats. Sotheby’s is selling a pair of colored-diamond earrings at its upcoming auction in Hong Kong.

The lot, offered without reserve, features a pear-shaped, 2.08-carat light-pink stone and a pear-shaped, 2.21-carat, very-light-pink, VVS1-clarity diamond, decorated with brilliant-cut diamonds of pink tint as well as kite-shaped ones. The surmounts contain brilliant-cut, very-faint-pink and very-light-pink diamonds. The earrings will carry a high estimate of HKD 2 million ($255,050) at the September 9 Fine Jewelry sale, according to the auction house’s website.

Sotheby’s is showcasing over 300 pieces, including jewels from well-known maisons such as Graff, Tiffany & Co., and Hermès.

Estimate: HKD 800,000 to HKD 1.5 million ($102,022 to $191,292)

A ring centering a pear-shaped 0.88-carat, fancy-vivid-purplish-pink, I2-clarity diamond, embellished with diamonds.

Estimate: HKD 600,000 to HKD 1.2 million ($76,518 to $153,037)

A ruby and diamond demi-parure comprising a fringe necklace, a pair of chandelier earrings and a ring. The 60 Burmese rubies, ranging from 0.19 to 2.09 carats, have a total weight of 26.78 carats, while the brilliant-cut diamonds total 12.65 carats. The set is on offer with no reserve.

Estimate: HKD 500,000 to HKD 1 million ($63,765 to $127,531)

This ring is offered without reserve. It bears a circular-cut, 3.10-carat Mozambique ruby, accented with 2.91 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds.

Estimate: HKD 650,000 to HKD 950,000 ($82,895 to $121,154)

An unmounted brilliant-cut, 5.13-carat, F-color, VVS2 diamond.
