Code Vein II: Mask of Idris DLC Brings a Dark New Tale on September 9

Bandai Namco says Code Vein II: Mask of Idris, the first big expansion for its action RPG follow up, will release on September 9 , 2026. Overall, the add-on keeps the same vibe as Code Vein II, meaning you’re still poking around different “what-if” histories, but now there are new faces, enemies , plus weapons and new abilities. In Code Vein II, players already run into Temporal Rifts, places that sort of keep leftovers from alternate historical routes. Instead, the DLC brings in a different take on the character who stepped into Forsaken World after a separate tragedy. This DLC will be purchasable on its own, and it’s also bundled with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of Code Vein II.

Bandai Namco says Code Vein II: Mask of Idris, the first big expansion for its action RPG follow up, will release on September 9 , 2026. The DLC has its own story, separate from the main campaign, and it takes you to a kind of alternate space, shaped by the game’s time-bending narrative. Overall, the add-on keeps the same vibe as Code Vein II, meaning you’re still poking around different “what-if” histories, but now there are new faces, enemies , plus weapons and new abilities. It’ll show up on PlayStation 5 , Xbox Series X|S , and PC via Steam.

Entering the Forsaken World

The core setting of the expansion is the Forsaken World, a mysterious realm formed by the fallout when history gets changed over and over. In Code Vein II, players already run into Temporal Rifts, places that sort of keep leftovers from alternate historical routes. In PlayStation’s own announcement, these bits were created because of actions taken in the past, and they were supposed to vanish later on. But instead, one Temporal Rift kept growing, and it basically turned into the Forsaken World. At the heart of this odd little realm is the Spindle of Pathos, this huge swerving force that pulls feelings from across time and space.

Liv Voda Joins the Adventure

One of the biggest additions is Liv Voda, a new companion type person who acts as the original keeper of the Temporal Rift. Liv is also the half-sister of Valentin Voda. As the character info shown by PlayStation says, she eventually ditched her tasks after getting bored, and she spent years away from the edge and frontier region. Her vibe is described as combative, and at the same time her hair and eyes get brighter whenever her emotions start ramping up. Her Formae includes Chariot Rave, and her Linkage Trait makes enemies more prone to staggering when her weapon connects.

Lou MagMell Offers Another Perspective

The next new partner is Lou MagMell, but there’s a detail worth keeping straight. Lou isn’t the same Revenant girl the protagonist meets during the main part of the story. Instead, the DLC brings in a different take on the character who stepped into Forsaken World after a separate tragedy. Her backstory kind of trails in slowly, you know, and it gets revealed bit by bit across the expansion . It also slots neatly into Code Vein II’s bigger habit of using alternate timelines and different versions of characters, so the same old ideas can be revisited but from slightly other angles.

New Weapons and Formae

Mask of Idris moves the combat system forward with new gear and Formae too. One of the newly shown moves is Grave Knocker, a martial arts Formae that matches all weapon types. With it the protagonist can launch into a heavy aerial kick, and it throws out shockwaves that can knock back nearby enemies. After that, when the player lands there is another shockwave, so it ends up being pretty great for groups, where targets are standing close together. Another addition is Sword of Karma, it calls forth a huge sword steeped in the flames of Pathos.

Conclusion

Mask of Idris looks prepared to hand Code Vein II players a pretty sizable new chapter, centered on alternate history, oddball mysteries, and tougher exchanges in combat. The Forsaken World, the Spindle of Pathos, Liv Voda and Lou MagMell open up fresh narrative avenues, while tools like the Sword of Karma and techniques like Grave Knocker bring extra layers to the whole combat flow. With a free update arriving at the same time as the expansion, September 9 could turn into a key date, for anyone roaming Code Vein II.
