Cocktail 2 remained steady on its second Sunday, adding Rs. 4 crore to the tally. Ideally, the movie should have witnessed some sort of growth on Sunday, but it remained flat. This brings its second weekend's cume to Rs. 11.25 crore, which is a 75 per cent drop from the opening weekend.
The Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna starrer took its running cume to Rs. 75.25 crore in 10 days of theatrical run. Based on current trends, the movie will close this week around Rs. 15-16 crore, which will take its total cume to the Rs. 80 crore mark. It is looking for an end around the Rs. 85-90 crore mark. That will be a good total for the film. However, these numbers (not collections) should be taken with an asterisk, as the movie is being aided by the external factors.
The original film was released in 2012, and it collected around Rs. 74.50 crore nett and emerged as a Clean Hit venture. Though the sequel will cross this figure, it will end up much lower if the OG collections are adjusted for inflation.
