New Delhi, September 17(APAC Media): Canon has launched the EOS R8 Mark II in India. The new camera succeeds the EOS R8 and combines a 24.2-megapixel full-frame sensor with in-body image stabilisation and high-speed shooting.

The Canon EOS R8 Mark II price in India starts at Rs. 1,78,995 for the body, including taxes. Canon has also introduced accessories including the Extension Grip EG-E2, priced at Rs. 9,995, and the Tripod Grip HG-1000TBR at Rs. 11,495.

Canon EOS R8 Mark II Specifications

The camera uses a 24.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor and Canon’s DIGIC X processor. It supports ISO 100–102,400, expandable up to 204,800, and can shoot at up to 40 frames per second using its electronic shutter.

Canon has added 5-axis in-body image stabilisation, while compatible RF lenses can provide up to 7.5 stops of stabilisation at the centre.

Video And Autofocus

For video, the Canon EOS R8 Mark II supports 6K-oversampled 4K recording at 60fps and Full HD recording at up to 180fps with audio. It also includes Canon Log 3, custom LUT support and livestreaming options.

The camera uses Dual Pixel CMOS AF II and adds Register People Priority, which allows autofocus to track selected people in crowded scenes.

Design And New Features

The camera weighs around 546g with the battery and memory card and measures 131.4 x 90.0 x 79.7mm. It features a new multi-controller joystick for autofocus control.

Canon has also added new colour filters, including NegativeFilmtone and PositiveFilmtone. The camera supports VR content creation and can work with Canon’s new Dual Pixel 3D Converter software for converting still images into 3D models.
