BWF: PV Sindhu advances to 2nd round of women’s singles

India’s ace shuttler P V Sindhu has advanced to the second round of the women’s singles event at the BWF World Championships in New Delhi. The former world champion dominated Ireland’s Sophia Noble, winning 21-7, 21-11. Meanwhile, in the women’s doubles, India’s Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have also progressed to the second round. The Indian duo defeated Spain’s Paula Lopez and Lucia Rodriguez 21-9, 21-13.
