'Boycott Ranbir Kapoor': Actress Nikita Rawal Questions Ramayana Star, Slams Old Beef Remark

Actress Nikita Rawal has expressed disappointment with Ranbir Kapoor’s casting in Ramayana. In a recent interview, Rawal visited Kapoor’s old ‘beef eating’ comment and slammed the actor for playing the role of lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s directorial. She urged everyone to boycott Ranbir Kapoor and demanded an apology from the actor.

“Jisne lakhon logo ki bhawnaon ke saath khela hai, seedha bol raha hai ki main beef khata hoon aur phir wohi Sri Ram ka kirdar nibha raha hai. Isko kya message denge, Mujhe lagta hai ki boycott kar do. I will keep running this #boycottranbirkapoor. Aur agar usko lagta hai zara sa bhi ki use galati hui hai, iss character ke Pehle ya baad mein jo logon ko ahat pahunchi hai unse maafi mange aur keh de ki galti hui. Hum toh hai hi maafi dene wale log. Bharat hai hi ye hi logon ko jo maafi de dete hai. Aap aakar maafi mangiye nahi toh mujhe nahi lagta ki log aapko maaf kar payenge. Mere hisaab se aapka personl character Sri Ram ke character ko justify nahi kar paa raha hai," she told Bollywood Mascot.

This roughly translates to, “Someone who has hurt the sentiments of millions of people by openly saying, ‘I eat beef,’ is now playing the role of Lord Ram. What message should we give him? I think he should be boycotted. I will continue running this #BoycottRanbirKapoor campaign. And if he feels, even a little, that he made a mistake, then either before or after playing this character, he should apologise to those whose sentiments were hurt and simply say, ‘I made a mistake.’ We are people who believe in forgiveness. That is what India stands for—we forgive those who sincerely apologise. Come forward and apologise. Otherwise, I don’t think people will be able to forgive you. In my opinion, your personal character does not justify portraying the character of Lord Ram."

Rawal further asked people to express their support to her by sharing their views on social media using the hashtag ‘#BoycottRanbirKapoor’.

While Ranbir Kapoor is playing lord Ram in Ramayana, Sai Pallavi will be seen essaying Sita. Yash will also be seen as Ravan in the film. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled to release in theatres during Diwali 2026, while Ramayana: Part 2 is expected to arrive during Diwali 2027.
