KRAFTON India has started releasing the BGMI Version 4.4 update for players in India, bringing new gameplay additions, map redesigns and a mythology-inspired themed experience.

Android rollout to happen in stages
According to the rollout timeline shared by KRAFTON, Android users started receiving the update from 6:30 AM IST, with access gradually expanding before reaching full availability by 11:30 AM IST.
iOS users are expected to receive the update through the Apple App Store later in the day, while the official APK version is expected to become available around 12:30 PM IST.
Players downloading the update have been advised to ensure they have enough storage space and a stable internet connection before beginning the installation process.
Hero’s Crown mode brings a mythology-inspired setting
One of the biggest additions in Version 4.4 is the Hero’s Crown mode, which introduces a redesigned battleground experience with ancient-themed environments and combat elements.
Erangel has undergone structural and visual changes as part of the update. Locations such as Ruins and Ferry Pier have been redesigned with marble temple-inspired architecture and new surroundings.
Floating island and combat additions introduced
The update also adds a floating area called Crown’s Abode, which serves as a high-risk loot zone. Players landing there can access premium supplies and additional recall opportunities during gameplay.
KRAFTON has also introduced Sun Chariots, a new movement feature linked to special boss encounters and rare rewards.
The update further adds multiple combat trials including Spartan’s Trial, Icarus’ Trial and Achilles’ Trial. These challenges provide temporary gameplay boosts such as flying abilities, defensive enhancements and attack-related advantages.

Alongside gameplay additions, Version 4.4 also introduces changes to lighting, textures and environmental details across maps. The update is also expected to include new collectibles, themed rewards and broader performance improvements for supported devices.
