Mahindra Scorpio ranked second with 15,774 units in May 2026, compared to 14,401 units in May 2025. This marked a 9.5% YoY increase. The Scorpio alone held a 17.8% share of the 7-seater segment. The combined popularity of the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio-N has helped Mahindra maintain a strong grip in the rugged 7-seater SUV space.
Toyota Innova + Hycross secured the third position with 10,325 units sold in May 2026. The model grew by 16.2% YoY, compared to 8,882 units in May 2025.
Mahindra XUV7XO posted sales of 9,338 units in May 2026, up from 6,435 units in May 2025. This resulted in a strong 45.1% YoY growth. The model captured 10.5% segment share, making it the fourth best-selling 7-seater in May 2026.
Mahindra Bolero ranked fifth with 8,933 units in May 2026. Sales were almost flat compared to 8,942 units in May 2025, reflecting a marginal 0.1% decline.

Mahindra 9S entered the list with 3,502 units, taking a 3.9% segment share in May 2026.
Toyota had multiple models in the May 2026 7-seater rankings. Apart from the Innova + Hycross, the Fortuner sold 2,905 units, growing 13.0% YoY, while the Rumion sold 2,119 units, up 10.5% YoY. The premium Toyota Vellfire witnessed a sharp jump, with sales rising from 29 units in May 2025 to 164 units in May 2026, registering a massive 465.5% YoY growth.
Renault Triber sold 1,890 units, growing 33.9% YoY from 1,411 units in May 2025.
Tata Safari recorded 1,057 units, down 4.7% YoY, while the Hyundai Alcazar sold 814 units, declining 11.7% YoY.
