FC Barcelona had quite the injury scare after Raphinha went off at half-time of Brazil’s 4-2 win against Australia. The forward has been on fire this season and is seen once again as a potential Ballon d’Or candidate. Thankfully, scans revealed no structural injury. It’s just swelling and pain.

According to the latest reports, the Brazilian will be back against Getafe, though he will not start. It’s believed Hansi Flick will use him as a substitute only, if he is used at all. The Catalans have many tough fixtures around the corner, and it would be best if Raphinha was in prime condition for it.

After playing Getafe at home on the 10th, Barcelona play Galatasaray three days later. Then they travel to face Real Betis away four days after. And just three days later, Barça play against Paris Saint-Germain in France. And what comes next is perhaps the biggest fixture of all: El Clásico against Real Madrid.

It’s said the medical staff considers this minor injury a warning of sorts that his body could be nearing its limit. Some well-deserved rest may help him be back in tip-top shape for the big games awaiting Barça.
