Health authorities reported the latest fatality during the 24-hour period ending Friday morning, pushing the combined number of confirmed and suspected measles-related deaths to 643.
Officials classified the latest death as a suspected measles fatality. Consequently, the number of suspected deaths increased to 551, while laboratory-confirmed measles deaths remained unchanged at 92.
New Infections Continue to Mount
The outbreak continues to spread across the country. During the same reporting period, health authorities recorded 1,027 new suspected measles cases, taking the cumulative total to 84,266.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh confirmed 126 additional measles infections through laboratory testing. As a result, the total number of confirmed cases has climbed to 10,185 since the outbreak intensified earlier this year.

Health authorities have urged parents and caregivers to ensure that children receive recommended measles vaccinations. They also continue to strengthen surveillance, treatment facilities, and awareness campaigns to prevent further loss of life.
Unless vaccination coverage improves and preventive measures are sustained, officials warn that Bangladesh could face additional cases and fatalities in the coming weeks.
