In addition, 467 children have died with symptoms consistent with the disease.
According to DGHS data, between March 15 and May 26, a total of 8,772 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing, with the latest health bulletin showing that 66,023 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide.
According to him, the target achievement rate of the country's measles vaccination programme has reached 122%.

Dhaka, May 26 (UNI) Over ten more children died from measles and related symptoms in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 555 since March 15 this year.
Of the new deaths, one was confirmed as measles-related while the remaining nine were classified as suspected, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), reports Business Standard BD.
During the same period, 1,083 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals nationwide. Of these, 53 cases were laboratory-confirmed as measles.
So far this year, at least 88 children have died from confirmed measles infections in Bangladesh. In addition, 467 children have died with symptoms consistent with the disease.
According to DGHS data, between March 15 and May 26, a total of 8,772 measles cases were confirmed through laboratory testing, with the latest health bulletin showing that 66,023 suspected measles cases have been identified nationwide.
Of these 48,800 patients have already been discharged after receiving treatment.
The country’s vaccination rates had plummeted to an all-time low of 59% during the interim government’s tenure, from a high 91% coverage, resulting in the epidemic that has gripped the country.
As such, Dhaka has been working on war footing to procure and vaccinate citizens with Health and Family Welfare Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain on Monday announcing that more than 2 crore children across the country have already been vaccinated against measles, surpassing the government's initial target.
According to him, the target achievement rate of the country's measles vaccination programme has reached 122%.
