Trump cuts Camp David stay short

The reported bomber movement comes amid several developments involving the US and Iran.

The US State Department has issued security warnings to Americans across six countries in the Middle East, while Trump is set to return to the White House earlier than planned after cutting short his stay at Camp David.

Iran sends three conditions for talks

Iran on Saturday formally conveyed its conditions for negotiations with the United States through Qatari and Pakistani mediators. Mohsen Rezaei, head of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, confirmed to Al Jazeera that Iranian officials were awaiting a direct response from Trump after Tehran’s proposal was passed to Washington.

According to Rezaei, Iran wants three conditions met before talks with the US can begin: an end to the war on all fronts, the release of seized Iranian assets and the lifting of the naval blockade.

Rezaei said Iran remained in contact with a Qatari mediator who had conveyed Tehran’s demands to Washington.

“We are waiting for the response of the US president," Rezaei said, according to Iranian state television.

Tehran signals talks and war readiness

While Iran has laid out conditions for negotiations, Rezaei also struck a more confrontational tone. He said Iran was prepared for what he described as a “decisive war" and claimed that Tehran was aware of weaknesses in the US military.

The remarks come as the US and Iran remain locked in an ongoing conflict, with diplomatic efforts continuing through mediators.

But with Iran reportedly at its highest alert level, Trump’s early return from Camp David, US security warnings across the region and Tehran’s conditions for ending the war all unfolding at the same time, the bomber’s departure is likely to remain under close watch.
