The match started 30 minutes late after the Pakistan-Oman game was suspended for about 15 minutes amid heavy rain.

Both Pakistan and India are the most successful teams in the history of the men’s competition at the Asian Games. While the Green Shirts have eight gold medals, India has four.
India’s most recent title came in Hangzhou 2023 when the side beat Japan 5-1 in the summit clash. The last time Pakistan had reached the final of the Asiad was in 2014, when it lost 2-4 to India via a penalty shootout.
