Maruti’s New 7-Seater
Expected Price – Rs 18 Lakh to Rs 27 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
Maruti has been spotted testing its upcoming 7-seater model. The new model is expected to hit the shores by the end of this year or early 2027. The 7-seater will be based on the e-heartect architecture, which is currently underpinned by the Maruti e-Vitara. So, expect the model to boast all the features and tech from that Maruti SUV.
As the spotted test mules were covered with heavy camouflage, the design details are still under wraps. However, we expect the model to boast a design language similar to the e-Vitara’s. Talking about the powertrains, expect the 7-seater to feature 49kWh and 61kWh battery pack options, which are used in the e-Vitara. Apart from that, the e-Vitara misses out on an AWD drivetrain, but it can be offered on the upcoming 7-seater.

The Boreal will be a 7-seater version of the Duster. So expect the model’s interiors to be more or less similar to the Duster’s. Tata 7-Seater MPV
Expected Price – Rs 18 Lakh to Rs 30 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai)
Tata has some of the interesting stuff coming up. The automaker has already hinted it might launch a new 7-seater in India that will use the Sierra’s Argos architecture. However, there hasn’t been any clear information about the model’s name or its powertrain. Industry rumours suggest it could be based on the Sierra itself and could be called the 7-seater Sierra or the Sumo.
Now, we believe it will use the same 1.5-litre NA and turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel mill under the hood – same as the Sierra. The features list could also be similar to the Sierra’s list. And being a Tata product, it won’t compromise on safety either. The launch is still some time away, as we haven’t yet seen the test mules out on the roads. So, expect the model to launch by the end of 2027 or early 2028.

The feature list will be carried from the electric Harrier. Also, the Safari EV is expected to get a QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) drivetrain. With that, we could finally see the OG Safari.
