Updated Toyota Hilux Launch – What’s New?
The updated Hilux was launched globally in November 2025, and within just 8 months, it will arrive on our shores. Being a new-gen model, it will boast several feature upgrades and cosmetic enhancements. All of these will also eventually be shared with the new-gen Toyota Fortuner, which might launch sometime later.

Design
Design-wise, the updated Hilux gets an all-new design retaining its rugged characteristics. It features slim, high-set LED headlamps, a honeycomb-patterned grille and a chunky bumper at the front. Speaking of the rear, it gets a vertical taillamp unit with C-shaped DRLs along with chunky cladding on the bumper.

Interiors
The interiors are changed too – it features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen. It also gets a new three-spoke steering wheel with Toyota’s lettermark. One key highlight is that Toyota has kept several physical buttons across the dashboard and steering wheel.
Other features in the pack include connected car tech, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charging pad, blind-spot monitor, ventilated front seats, multiple drive modes and an ADAS suite, among others.

Updated Toyota Hilux Launch – Powertrain
The updated Hilux is expected to retain the 2.8-litre diesel engine and could also add the 48V mild-hybrid system introduced with the Fortuner last year.

What About The Fortuner?
The Fortuner, too, will soon be receiving a generational update. And several things, including the new design and feature additions, will be honoured with the Fortuner too. Talking about the launch of the new-gen Fortuner – the brand hasn’t revealed anything about it yet. But we expect the model to launch by late 2026 or early 2027, as the new-gen Hilux is set to debut in the coming month.
