One surprise absentee however has been Alejandro Garnacho, who joined the Blues just last summer for a decent chunk of change, hoping to resurrect his career after it had stalled at Manchester United.
Alas, he failed to get the thing into gear and going again.
Indeed, as per The Athletic, and others, Garnacho has been “allowed to stay away” to sort out his future, with the 22-year-old “keen to leave” as well.
Chelsea have set an asking price in the region of €50m, and are “optimistic of completing a deal in the next fortnight” before we leave on July 25 for the preseason tour Down Under.

Chelsea have begun preseason preparations at Cobham this week, with manager Xabi Alonso getting to work and joined by all those players who were not involved in the World Cup (or those who are still there of course).
