Speaking with Galatta Plus, Prashanth Neel revealed that Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam would begin immediately after the completion of Dragon.

Prashanth Neel is next set to helm Jr NTR starrer Dragon, which is slated to release in theaters on June 11, 2027. Now, in a recent conversation, the filmmaker revealed that he is likely to begin work on Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Salaar: Part 2 - Shouryaanga Parvam after wrapping up the current action entertainer.
After Dragon, Prashanth Neel to work on Prabhas’ Salaar 2?
Speaking with Galatta Plus, Prashanth Neel revealed that Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam would begin immediately after the completion of Dragon. The filmmaker also spoke about the possibility of KGF 3, stating that he has not yet decided when he would return to the franchise.
Moreover, the director confirmed that Dragon would mark his departure from the genre of hyper-stylized mass-action films. Apparently, he has been working on a mythological film series that will feature a more colorful visual palette compared to his darker films. Additionally, he has also expressed his desire to make a small and intimate drama film.
For those unaware, Salaar: Part 2 - Shouryaanga Parvam is the highly anticipated sequel to Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire . Starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran as co-leads, the film is set in the dystopian city-state of Khansaar and revolves around the emotional and volatile bond between childhood friends Deva and Vardharaja Mannar. When political betrayal threatens Varadha’s rule, he summons Deva for help, leading to a massive clash for the throne.
Apart from the lead duo, the film also featured Jagapathi Babu, Bobby Simha, Easwari Rao, Shruti Haasan, Sriya Reddy, John Vijay, and several others in key roles.

Dragon is an upcoming action spectacle starring Jr NTR in the lead role. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film features the RRR actor as Luger, a man involved in a substance-smuggling syndicate that is preparing to face a massive crackdown from authorities.
With Rukmini Vasanth playing the female lead, the movie also stars Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, and several others in pivotal roles.
Prabhas’ work front
Prabhas is currently filming both Fauzi and Spirit. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, Fauzi is a period action drama that is expected to release in December 2026.
On the other hand, Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is a cop action drama slated to hit the big screens on March 5, 2027.
