Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who was in New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Summit, has grabbed attention after a video showed him turning back to thank his driver before departing from the capital on his aircraft.

India hosted the 18th BRICS Summit at Bharat Mandapam on September 12-13, with 13 world leaders and 17 delegations in attendance. The theme of the summit was “Building Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability."

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Sheikh Khaled was seen stepping out of car and greeting dignitaries, who were present at the airport. As he planned to depart, he turned back and went to his driver to shake hands with him.

With a gentle pat on his arms, the Crown Prince was seen briefly speaking to his driver, a gesture that is winning hearts on social media.

Sheikh Khaled was in New Delhi representing United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for BRICS Summit and bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In a post on X, PM Modi welcomed the Crown Prince and acknowledged that India-UAE ties have witnessed significant transformation over the past few years.

The Prime Minister said his discussion with Sheikh Khaled focussed on strategic cooperation between India and the UAE across various sectors, including defence, artificial intelligence, space, critical minerals, energy, food security and connectivity.

“Discussed taking our Strategic Partnership forward across defence, AI, space, critical minerals, energy, food security and connectivity. From investments ties to new possibilities in strategic energy infrastructure and IMEC connectivity, there is immense potential ahead.
