Seven people from Odisha died after a car carrying devotees was swept away by a rain-swollen stream near the Maa Baglamukhi Temple in Nalkheda in Agar Malwa district in Madhya Pradesh on Saturday.

Upon receiving the information, administrative officials and rescue teams rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation.
The engagement ceremony of one of the unmarried daughters was also scheduled to take place in a few days.
Dillip Kumar Soni, Superintendent of Police, Agar Malwa, said that rescue efforts were launched immediately after receiving the information.

All the deceased were residents of Jayadev Vihar in Bhubaneswar and had travelled from Ujjain to visit the temple. The deceased included the son, grandson, granddaughter, daughter and son-in-law of the family.

According to reports, the family travelled outside every year, but this trip ended in tragedy. The engagement ceremony of one of the unmarried daughters was also scheduled to take place in a few days.
A relative of the deceased said, "This is a very sad news. I have personally known them since childhood. Officials are coordinating to bring back the bodies at the earliest."
Dillip Kumar Soni, Superintendent of Police, Agar Malwa, said that rescue efforts were launched immediately after receiving the information. He further stated that the water current was very strong as it had rained heavily the previous night and the driver might have tried to cross the road in that condition which led to the incident.
The identities of the deceased are being ascertained, according to police.
