— JeongyeonDays later, Chaeyoung became the second member to confirm her departure, closing out a 14-year history with JYP Entertainment. — ChaeyoungNow, attention is falling on which remaining members will stay and who will choose to leave the agency. Alongside Jeongyeon, both members were initially named in reports as members expected to leave the agency back in July. Neither member’s departure has been confirmed by JYP Entertainment, but several fans are taking the recent news of Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung’s exits as confirmation. On the flip side, JYP Entertainment recently opened a new actor management job role, leading others to believe the position may have been created with her in mind.

With two members of TWICE leaving JYP Entertainment in just a few days, the popular girl group’s nine-member roster is no longer under one roof — and fans expect more departures to follow in the coming weeks.

Jeongyeon was the first to confirm her exit on August 10, choosing to sign with VARO Entertainment to pursue acting. VARO Entertainment, which also represents Jeongyeon’s actress sister Gong Seungyeon, promised to support Jeongyeon acting career while making sure she can “continue smoothly with group activities.” Jeongyeon shared a handwritten letter on Instagram that day confirming her departure, describing JYP Entertainment as “my second home since my teenage years.”

The one thing I truly want to tell ONCE is that even though I am moving on to a new chapter to take on new challenges, TWICE, the center of my life, will remain unchanged, just as it is now. — Jeongyeon

Days later, Chaeyoung became the second member to confirm her departure, closing out a 14-year history with JYP Entertainment. When she shared the news with fans, she revealed that she would be continuing as “Chaeyoung of TWICE” alongside her solo career under her newly established independent label, LIL FANTASY.

Most of all, please know that nothing changes with TWICE. Everything I’ve received is thanks to my time as TWICE, which will always be my roots. — Chaeyoung

Now, attention is falling on which remaining members will stay and who will choose to leave the agency. Nayeon is one of the members expected to stay after she recently revealed she travelled to the UK at the same time JYP Entertainment’s Head of A&R was also spotted in the country. Many fans have read this as a sign that she will continue her solo music career under the label.

NAYEON new collab or album incoming? Head of JYPE A&R Jane Kim also went to the UK. She is the TWICE project manager/lead for every collab and album. https://t.co/gl1e06eYrG pic.twitter.com/cH5bD2GvZk — minaron (@godmitzu) August 12, 2026

Likewise, fans widely expect Sana, Momo, and Mina to remain under JYP Entertainment, pointing to the agency’s continued promotion of the trio as a sign their contracts have already been renewed.

MiSaMo for sure. I think also Nayeon and Dahyun. pic.twitter.com/ktDYOO8vEz — Leonie 𓆩♡𓆪 (@IGOTJeongyeoNie) August 13, 2026

The rumors follow concerns previously sparked by Sana, who sent a string of emotional Bubble messages to fans just after TWICE wrapped up their world tour. However, as the group’s Japanese members are also active as the subunit MiSaMo, many ONCEs believe they will renew their contracts together.

ONCE, I think that I did well by becoming a member of TWICE. There were so many moments that made us into ONCE and TWICE. Whenever I forget that, you are what reminds me again, so thank you. — Sana

On the flip side, Jihyo and Tzuyu are facing strong resignation speculation. Alongside Jeongyeon, both members were initially named in reports as members expected to leave the agency back in July. JoyNews24 reported that Jihyo would be starting her own one-person agency.

Weeks later, Jihyo’s sent messages to fans alluding worries about upcoming news, leading many to believe she plans to leave the agency.

News1, meanwhile, stated in July that Tzuyu had decided not to renew her contract.

Neither member’s departure has been confirmed by JYP Entertainment, but several fans are taking the recent news of Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung’s exits as confirmation.

Yea those four articles that said Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu were leaving JYPE.. they are all probably true — 🟠 (@twyjy) August 13, 2026

Many fans also believe Dahyun will leave the agency, though she appears to be the member with the most mixed speculation. Her growing career in acting has several fans speculating she could move to an agency better suited to that path in line with Jeongyeon’s decision. On the flip side, JYP Entertainment recently opened a new actor management job role, leading others to believe the position may have been created with her in mind.

Dahyun’s like the most unpredictable here, there’s like 50% who thinks she’ll stay and another 50% who thinks she’ll leave hahaha either way, whatever announcements related to her might be in the days to come, I’ll be there in a heartbeat, cheering for her 🙂‍↔️ — ༊·˚ (@dubutrouble) August 13, 2026

TWICE’s contract rumors have gripped fans, but ONCE are not the only ones paying attention. This week, JYP Entertainment’s shares fell more than 8%, with SK Securities analyst Park Jun Hyung directly citing TWICE’s contract renewal status as a risk factor going forward via Yonhap News.
