We informed you earlier that the Hyundai Kona will be merged with the next-generation Creta, and the new model will carry both names in different regions. The new Creta is scheduled to be introduced sometime in 2027, and is currently undergoing testing in India as well in foreign soil. Codenamed SX3, the 2027 Hyundai Creta will carry an all-new design inspired by the muscular Crater Concept.

The latest renderings reveal that the front fascia of the new Creta now has clean horizontal lines, chunky cladding, and split headlamp setup with the LED matrix beams integrated below the DRL strip.
The clamshell hood has chiselled surfacing that merges to the upper fenders, while the floating roof-like glasshouse resembles the upcoming Tucson. There is a strong cladding that connects the front and rear wheel arches, while the rear gets a thin LED light strip.
It is confirmed that the next-gen Hyundai Creta will come with new Pleos Connect infotainment system. This is an AI-compatible central screen paired with a smaller digital instrument console. The good update is that Hyundai will offer physical buttons below the screen and on the steering wheel to operate key functions.
The SUV will grow in size, and is expected to measure close to 4.5 meters in length. It is expected to be based on the new K3 platform that underpins the new Seltos. The wheelbase should be around 2700mm, which will allow Hyundai to offer more space for rear occupants. It will come with improved material quality, and fit & finish. The higher-spec models will be equipped with Bose audio system, ambient lighting, and tailored leather seat along with LEVEL 2 ADAS tech.
The global-spec new Creta will get the new hybrid engine, which we have already seen on the International-spec Kia Seltos. The engine consists of a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor, and offers 151 bhp of power in front-wheel-drive guise. The India-spec model is likely to get a new hybrid engine comprising a 1.5L, naturally-aspirated petrol engine, an electric motor and a small battery pack. It will also be offered with the existing 1.5L NA petrol, a 1.5L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo diesel engines.
