Hero MotoCorp has launched the new Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 in India at Rs 86,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The updated commuter motorcycle gets revised styling, new connectivity features and improved fuel efficiency. It continues to target buyers looking for a practical and fuel-efficient 125cc commuter.

The Super Splendor has been one of Hero’s key commuter motorcycles for years, and with the XTEC 2.0 update, the company is adding more modern features to keep it relevant against rivals like Honda Shine, TVS Raider 125 and Bajaj Pulsar 125.

Updated Styling

While the overall design remains familiar, the updates help give the motorcycle a fresher appearance. The new Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 gets refreshed graphics, new colour options and XTEC 2.0 badging. Hero has also added a stitched dual-texture seat and rim tapes for a slightly sportier look. Colour options include:

– Glossy Black

– Candy Blazing Red

– Matt Axis Grey

– Matt Nexus Blue

– Matt Chestnut Brown

Engine and Mileage

Power comes from the same 124.7cc single-cylinder engine producing 10.7 bhp and 10.6 Nm torque. The motor continues with fuel injection and is tuned for everyday city commuting. Hero claims a mileage figure of 72 kmpl, aided by the company’s i3S idle stop-start system and APFI technology. The bike also gets an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which allows quieter engine starts and smoother restart operation in traffic.

New Features

Hero has also added hazard lights for the first time on the Super Splendor lineup. For braking, the motorcycle comes with a front disc brake setup along with CBS. Other additions include a handlebar-mounted engine kill switch. The biggest update comes in the form of new features. The Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 now gets:

– Fully digital instrument console

– Bluetooth connectivity

– Call and SMS alerts

– Real-time mileage indicator

– Phone battery status

– USB Type-C charging port

– Low fuel indicator

Comfort and Ride

The motorcycle continues with a commuter-focused setup featuring an upright riding posture, long seat and telescopic front suspension. Hero says the ergonomics are aimed at reducing fatigue during daily usage. With this update, Hero is trying to make the Super Splendor feel more modern without changing the core formula that has worked for years in the commuter segment.

Speaking at the launch, Ashutosh Varma, Chief Business Officer, India Business Unit, Hero MotoCorp said, “Hero MotoCorp’s Splendor has built a strong legacy of delivering trust, performance and everyday reliability to millions of customers for over three decades. The new Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 carries this promise forward with a bold and contemporary design, advanced technology and enhanced convenience features. With its trusted performance & reliability, everyday practicality and an elevated riding experience, the Super Splendor XTEC 2.0 further strengthens Hero MotoCorp’s leadership in the segment while reaffirming its commitment to delivering superior value to its customers.”
