Charles Leclerc topped the opening practice session of the Hungarian Grand Prix for Ferrari - before a late technical issue stopped him.
Using the soft tyres, Leclerc clocked a 1:19.075, and was nearly half-a-second clear of Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton in second and third.
However, with seven minutes remaining, Leclerc suffered a technical issue whilst upshifting on a flying lap, reporting "something broke" but it was not enough to cost him P1 in the session.
In the upgraded Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso took 13th, whilst Lance Stroll suffered a suspension failure in the sister car.

George Russell was fifth for Mercedes, with Fred Vesti, in for Kimi Antonelli, in seventh, with Lando Norris 11th and Leonardo Fornaroli, in for Oscar Piastri, placing 16th.
