Sustained selling by foreign institutional investors (FIIs) over 19 months has erased the net inflow accumulated over the preceding 100 months, CNBC-TV18 reported, citing NSDL data.
FIIs invested about $45.9 billion in Indian equities between September 2016 and December 2024, while withdrawing nearly $46 billion between January 2025 and July 2026.
August, however, has seen a reversal in the trend.
